Papers of William Henry Tayloe, of King George and Richmond counties, Va., and Washington, D.C., include correspondence, 1818-1871, concerning agricultural management; diaries, 1824-1835, concerning horses; and papers relating to his service as a justice of the peace; inventories and accounts of plantations in King George, Prince William, and Richmond counties, Va., and Perry and Marengo counties, Ala.; and reports and accounts, 1827-1843, of overseers of the poor for Richmond County, Va. Papers of Benjamin Boughton include diaries, deeds, accounts, correspondence, and estate papers (executed by William Henry Tayloe); ships' accounts, 1824-1861, with merchants in Baltimore, Md., and Norfolk, Va.; and records, 1813-1815, of Boughton's Virginia militia regiment. Papers of Henry Augustine Tayloe include correspondence, 1857- 1907, concerning horses and agricultural operations in Richmond County, Va.; agreements, 1852-1896, with freedmen; accounts of a blacksmith shop and grist mill in Richmond County, Va.; and other papers. The collection also includes correspondence, 1868-1881, of Thomas Taylor Munford of Bedford County, and Lynchburg, Va.
